The Commissioner Bruce Holmes Youth Foundation volunteer Board of Directors is made up of recognized leaders across many areas of expertise. They represent the broad diversity of those we serve and contribute significant amounts of time, talent, and energy to further the mission of the organization.


RITA BAILEY
Dr. Bailey is a retired educator after forty years of service. Her interest and passion continue to
be developing and encouraging young people to pursue academic excellence. She volunteers
for several Henry County community organizations. Rita Bailey serves as the Assistant Treasurer of the Foundation

CARMEN TOLBERT
Carmen serves as the Secretary of the Foundation. Carmen E. Tolbert was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana but currently resides in Hampton, Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from
Purdue University and her Master of Business Administration degree from Mercer University.

TREA PIPKIN
Trea Pipkin was sworn in as a Superior Court Judge for the Flint Judicial Circuit in January of 2018 by Georgia Governor Nathan Deal. Trea obtained his Associates Degree in Business Administration from Reinhardt College, his Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management from the University of Georgia, and his Law Degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta.

CHERICE HOLLIS
Cherice Hollis was born and raised in Decatur, GA and has lived in McDonough, GA since 2006. Cherice is a A Friend's House volunteer and former Everybody Reads mentor, PTO president, Team Mom, team lead for several United Way Shoe Box projects, Dress for Success supporter and numerous other organizations.
DENISE HOLMES
Attorney Denise Holmes serves as a Board Member for the Bruce Holmes Youth foundation.She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and her Juris Doctorate degree from Atlanta Law School in Atlanta, Georgia. She is also a trained mediator.

KIMBERLY STROUD
Kimberly Stroud serves as the Treasurer of the Foundation. She was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and has lived in Ellenwood since 2018. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University. Kimberly is an active volunteer with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity and the DeKalb County League of Women Voters.
OUR ADVISORY BOARD

TONYA SMALLS
Dr. Tonya Smalls, CPA, CGMA is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Clark Atlanta University. Prior to joining the faculty at Clark Atlanta University as an Assistant Professor of Accounting, Dr. Smalls served as the Clinical Assistant Professor of Accounting at Clemson University. Dr. Smalls has also served in Adjunct /Part-time faculty positions at Clark Atlanta University, Georgia State University, and Kennesaw State University. Tonya serves on the Advisory Board for the Commissioner Bruce Holmes Youth Foundation.

JOSEPH HURSTON
Joseph Hurston is the Technical Sales Executive Manager for IBM’s Cloud and Cognitive team. His primary area of focus includes the Integration and Development portfolio as well as the Management and Platform portfolio. Joseph serves on the advisory board for the Commissioner Bruce Holmes Youth Foundation

DR. ROSLYN JOHNSON
Dr. Johnson serves on the Advisory Board for the Commissioner Bruce Holmes Youth Foundation. Dr. Johnson-McCurry was born and raised in the Detroit, Michigan and began her education at the University of Michigan, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature
